Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) is a method in which a language model retrieves relevant documents from an external knowledge source before answering and grounds its output on them.
RAG grounds answers in vetted sources, reduces hallucinations and keeps knowledge current without retraining the model. For Swiss SMEs it makes their own manuals, contracts or product data securely queryable.
