EU AI Act
The EU AI Act is the European Union's regulation establishing a risk-based legal framework for artificial intelligence; it entered into force on 1 August 2024 and applies in phases.
It sorts AI applications into risk classes, banning some practices while imposing strict obligations on high-risk systems. Swiss SMEs can be affected too when they serve customers or markets in the EU.
